Sazan Hendrix turned her home into a shabby chic celebration for her daughter Valentina's first birthday. Sazan added that in DIY’ing your baby’s birthday, you learn that its all in the personal touches to make a party extra memorable.  

Sazan hosted her daughter Valentina's first birthday at home, adding every last detail herself through hands-on projects and personalized touches. 

Some of Sazan's creations included a thoughtful "Create Your Own Teeny Memes" polaroid station since Valentina is known for her animated facial expressions. Her sister even taught herself how to create a balloon wall on Youtube to add to the party decor. 

Sazan chose pieces from the Amethyst collection to tie in with the chic aesthetic of the party. She wanted to keep the food colorful and fun with snack cups, strawberry punch, and homemade rice krispy treats. To top it off, they ordered a Susie Cakes buttercream confetti cake for Valentina (where their wedding cake was also from).

The front yard became a perfect photo-op with a teepee from Amazon dressed up in pillows and throws. This easily became Valentina's favorite spot to play during the party.  

Guests were encouraged not to bring gifts, as Sazan preferred to pick out just one item. Her suggestion, to invest in one thing you know your child will love. She decided on a wooden swing since Valentina loves being outside and going to the park. Swinging is one of her favorite activities, and once it was put up at her party-- she was hooked.
